LA PINTADA
Only 60km south of the Sonora capital there is an ancient indigenous Yaqui, Seris and Mayo refuge before the arrival of colonial conquistadors. Its caves were used for their life and death rituals, and they also served as a silent witness of the difficulties the Indians suffered during the colonization of their lands. Today you can find paintings recorded on the walls of the caves of the Sierra Prieta, also called Sierra Libre or Macizo del Cerro Prieto.
