About Ixtapa

Formerly a coconut plantation located on Guerrero's Pacific coasts, Ixtapa is a modern and luxurious Mexican tourism resort. Created by the federal government, this is the successful result of a carefully planned government strategy on tourism development during the 1960's.

Mexican architects Agustin and Enrique Landa Verdugo worked on the design of the first class hotel, commerce and restaurant area and a luxurious residential area. Therefore, visitors will find in these heavenly beaches all the services of an exclusive tourism center.

Only 5 Km. away from Ixtapa is the town of Zijuatanejo of ancestral tradition and existence. Here you can visit typical crafts markets and Mexican culture.
